This V-shaped rip through ice-like crystal is achieved by carving and frosting glass--then etching seemingly liquid droplets that descend beneath. Torn Victory Vase is by modern, master glass artisan, Stephen Schlanser, who is collected internationally by a select group of art aficionados--including heads of state and well known celebrities. Using molten crystal as his medium, Schlanser creates pieces that are equally well regarded both for their classic, timeless forms as well as the meticulous etchings and/or embellishments that frequently adorn them.
